Each year seems to race by a little quicker than the last! Everyone is always in such a hurry to get somewhere or to do things! No one, it seems, takes the time to ‘stop and smell the roses’ any more!
Stop and Smell the Roses is a saying that has been around a long time but it still has importance! With all the electronics: computers, laptops, tablets, cell phones, etc., people don’t even take time for each other, much less to stop and smell the roses! How many of us even use the phone to talk to each other any more. There is more texting than talking. Then there are the social networks such as Facebook where everyone posts where they are, where they are going, what they are doing and with whom! And the saddest part of all is not only do we not have time for each other, but too many times we don’t have time for God!
Every day we wake up, is a gift from God, our Father! Each day has 24 hours in it. That is 24 hours with opportunity to be a blessing, to receive blessings and to fellowship with The One who created us in His own image! God has His Plan for each of us and it is up to us to talk to Him; listen to Him; fellowship with Him and follow the paths and guidance of the Holy Spirit. I talk to my Daddy all day long as I go about doing my daily duties. I ask the Holy Spirit to guide and lead me along the right paths daily and most of all I LISTEN! I have learned not to jump into something, but to pray about it first and see what my Daddy says!
So, no matter how busy your life is, please take time to Stop and Smell the Roses each day and make the time to fellowship with your Daddy!
My favorite place to go where I hear and feel the presence of my Daddy everywhere is Clark Gardens. It is not only beautiful but so tranquil. It is my ‘God’s Little Bit of Heaven in Texas’! Here are a few pieces of it:
Have a Blessed Day!
Love and Blessings,
~ Judy 💘 ~
I am definitely my Daddy’s girl! I am so in love with The Father, Jesus and The Holy Spirit that I want to shout it from the rooftops! No, I am not ashamed! I am not intimidated! I am happy! I am overflowing in Joy, Peace, Love, Blessings, and Knowing Who I am!
Knowing who I am? Yes!!! I am a Child of God, created in His Image, filled with the Holy Spirit, born again (recreated) – made and filled with the Righteousness of God! He lives in me and The Holy Spirit guides my every step and action and when I stumble He is there to pick me up, dust me off and forward we go ~ Together!
He has blessed me so much with His wonderful gift of Love to share with everyone, everywhere I go! One gift He gave me was photography, to share the glorious beauty around me in all forms! I am a very blessed Woman of God and I love my Daddy!
I have changed the name of my Blog from ‘Thru My Daddy’s Eyes’ to Thru My Daddy’s Eyes & Heart’. Every since He presented my with my Gift, my Passion and my Love of Photography, I have been asking Him to let me see the world, the beauty, everything around me through His eyes.
It started out with praying to let me see the beauty around me through His eyes and that was wonderful! I’ve always loved any and everything to do with nature, trees, flowers, grass, ponds, lakes sky, clouds, etc! Soon I noticed that I was even seeing colors in all nature differently ~ more vivid, more alive!
Then one day when I was talking to my Daddy, I heard, ‘you need to see everything around you through My eyes.’ Well, this was different, I started seeing not only nature, but also people through His eyes and not just the beauty, but things that I knew hurt His heart. These are the things that I knew I needed to pray about!
Now, the reason for the change…I was reading (absorbing) a book that I hadn’t read in a while! A book that had a profound effect on me spiritually the first time I read it and this time a new stronger, deeper more profound effect! It was like when you read a scripture hundreds of times and then there is the time you read it again and…it has a new revelation for you! Wow! This is what happened to me. In this book, He said that His people may see things through His eyes, but He wants us to see things through His heart! Because when we see things through His heart we are seeing through His LOVE! This is what I want so…the change…Thru My Daddy’s Eyes & Heart!
Life is so beautiful! Even on a cold, cloudy day, it is beautiful. Some people call a day like today ‘dreary’ but I don’t…I can see the beauty in it all around me. It’s like looking at people! Do you just see the outward appearance or do you look for and see the inner person? So many times we are quick to judge someone or something by the outward appearance, but that is not the true person or object!
Take for instance an old, worn, dusty Bible. Once you open it and start to read it, you find all the answers to everything in life you can and will possibly face. Does the outward appearance of that Bible change what is truly on the inside of it? Think about it!
The next time you see someone who is ‘different’ from what the world considers beautiful, perfect, etc. step back and take a look at that person through God’s eyes! In His eyes we are all beautifully made and He is constantly molding, shaping and refining us. He created each and everyone of us and He doesn’t make a mistake! After all…it is not our ‘housing/body/looks’ that is the real us, the real ‘us’ is the spirit inside of that housing. He gave each of us our own will and it is up to us what we do with it!
For me…my will is to make God/Jesus, my Father, my Daddy, my Savior, my everything…my top priority in my life and family. To follow His word! To be obedient! To become more like Him everyday and to let His love and light shine through me, my words and my actions! YES! Life is Beautiful when you have Jesus as your constant companion and friend!
My prayer for everyone of you today is that you see the beauty in everything and everyone around you today, Thru My Daddy’s Eyes!
Love and Blessing Always,
~ Judy ~
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5&6
In these days we are now in, people are rude, have little or no morals, are disrespectful or even evil. It tells us in the Bible that there will be people like this ~ it’s just hard to actually experience it! We as Christians, Believers, are commanded by God to love one another as He loves us. How does He love us? Well, first He created us and He created us in His image. We are His children and He loves us and wants only good for us. He never leaves us nor forsakes us and He provides our every need. Most importantly He loves us as much as He loves Jesus!
Now you may say, ‘But there are people who are homeless, hungry, etc! What about them?’ Now when God created us, He also gave us our own will and He will not go against our will! We have the will to trust and believe God or to trust and believe ‘man’! We have the will to make Jesus the Lord of our lives for always, no matter what, or to blame God when something bad happens in our lives. Oh, it’s easy to TRUST Him when things are going well, but what about when they aren’t?
I know that God, my Daddy, is always with me no matter what I have gone through or am going through. I know that He has a Plan for my life that is far better than any thing I could ever dream of and I also know that no matter what, He is there to see me through every trial, every tribulation and show me the way out!
Now where does sowing and reaping come in? Well, God’s Word tell us that ‘God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, be he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.’ Galatians 6: 7-9 God has a ‘due season’ for all of the seeds we plant ~ good seeds as well as bad seeds! These days everyone is saying something about karma! Well, it’s not karma, it’s the Word of God, our Father!
So when someone does you wrong or you hear of all the evil, the lies being told, the corruption, just remember that God, your Daddy, has you in His hands and instead of living in fear, complaining, questioning, simply TRUST Him and pray for those that don’t know Him to have their eyes and hearts opened up to see the light! That, my friend, is walking in the Love of God and sowing good seeds! Those who are sowing bad seeds will reap their harvest!
Be blessed and remember God loves you and so do I! ❤
Love and Blessings,
~ Judy ❤ ~
Our world today has become so materialistic and so judgmental that looking and listening to others has made me stop and think! How do we see others and do we really see the person? In other words do we look at the clothes they wear, how they dress, the kind of car they drive, the house they live in, the neighborhood they live in, how much money they have or do we look to see the person on the inside of the window dressings or lack of?
Two of my mother’s favorite says when I was growing up were…”Pretty is As Pretty Does” and “Beauty is Only Skin Deep”. Well over the years I have learned that those sayings are so very, very true! I was very blessed to have a mother who wasn’t prejudiced or judgmental of a person’s outward appearance. She would feed you and give you whatever you needed no matter how much money you did or didn’t have or what you looked like! She saw the true person on the inside!
The ‘Beauty is Only Skin Deep’ was revealed to me in a lot of different situations, but one that is dearest to my heart is the one that was Mrs. Carter. She was the wife of my husband’s Regional Manager and also a relative of my father-in-law’s employee. We were invited to their house one eventing. Now Mrs. C had had a stroke that left one side of her face disfigured. As I was introduced to her, I looked into her eyes and I saw one of the most beautiful people I had ever seen. As we talked and got acquainted it was like looking into her spirit. Then it came to me ~ ‘Beauty is Only Skin Deep’! I only met her that one time face to face, many, many years ago, but to this day I can still see her beauty!
I have also known quite a few people that were absolutely beautiful on the outside, but when you saw how they treated others, how they lived their lives or how they talked, then you knew that the expression ‘Pretty is As Pretty Does’ was also true ! 🙂
I grew up surrounded by a lot of wealthy, ‘big named’ people and I learned at a very early age not to judge people by what they ‘have’ materially! The money and material possessions don’t make the person! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) I learned also at a very early age about snobs and hypocrites! Usually the ones whose wealth came from starting out with nothing and working and building into abundance were the nicest, most sincere, most generous, honest people. The snobs and hypocrites were the ones whose wealth was ‘handed to them’ and they never had to work for anything or the ones who didn’t have much but wanted everyone to think they did! 🙂
Here is an example of someone we knew years ago who was the pharmacist in the small town we lived in Mississippi. He not only had the largest ‘Drug Store’, but also the busiest! He was a very wealthy man! He never flaunted his wealth, he was down to earth and one of the kindest, most generous men in town! Now he had a very nice home but it wasn’t a ‘castle’ to show the world how much money he had, he had several airplanes and he, his wife and his children (grown and/or almost grown) each drove one of the finest, most expensive brand name automobiles made at that time. One day, he drove to the largest city in Mississippi to one of the largest dealers of this brand of automobile to buy a new one for his wife. Now, his attire did not yell ‘I am rich’! He had on jeans, a nice sport shirt and looked like any ordinary, plain fellow walking into the car dealership! He walked in, looked around at the different models and out of the several salesmen standing around not one came to ask if they could help him! Finally after spending a good bit of time looking and waiting for a salesman to help him, he started to leave. He walked up to one of the salesmen and told him that he had come to buy a new car for his wife, but since no one showed any interest he would take his business elsewhere. Then he pulled the CASH out of his back pocket that he had to make his purchase with, showed it to them and left to never return again! Moral: Never Judge Someone By Appearance!
We all judge, jump to conclusions about people we don’t know and too many times don’t look to see the real person on the inside! God made us ALL in His image and He doesn’t make junk! It’s up to us to take the time to ‘look into the eyes of the person’ and to maybe even ‘walk in their shoes’ before we form an opinion of them! And the best of all is to let the Holy Spirit be our guide! When we learn to listen to Him, we are never steered wrong!
Have an abundantly blessed and prosperous day!
Love and Blessings,
~ Judy ~
We each have been given a gift from God, even if you don’t know at this time what your gift is. I always knew that God has placed in each of us our own unique gift, but for years I didn’t know what mine was. One day 7 years ago I asked Him to show me what my gift is and one week later He revealed it to me. Over the last 7 years He has been teaching, guiding, fine tuning and developing my gift and will continue to until the day I go Home. This is because this is what I have asked Him to do. I want to continue to grow and perfect my gift. Otherwise it will be wasted and after all, it is my gift from my Daddy!
Now, when I say we each have a unique gift, I don’t mean that we are the only ones who have it. For instance, there are those who have musical gifts and even though they may play the same instrument or sing the same song as someone else, their style and their talent is unique and there is a difference! The same goes for artists who paint, sculpture, draw, sketch, etc. For those in ministering or working with people in different situations, each is unique in their gift. In photography, there are so many different types and styles and yet each photographer has a unique gift. We need to cherish and be thankful for our gift.
Too many times we may compare ourselves to others who have gifts in the same ‘category’ as ours, and even feel we aren’t as good as someone else! This is wrong! When we do this we are insulting our Daddy! He gave each of us a unique gift and we need to learn to recognize and be thankful for it! It may be the way we hear something; the way we have of saying something or the way of seeing something! We need to use the Passion we have for our gift and let it shine through no matter what our gift is. Learn to appreciate others with the same or like gift; share with each other and learn from each other. Praise each others work and be happy for them for what they are accomplishing. We are all blessed and we are all Unique!
Have a Wonderfully Blessed Day!
Love and Blessings Always,
~ Judy ~
