A couple of weeks ago I did a blog on ‘A Great Find’ and indeed it was. Today I am going to share some more photos of our treasure from that day! Enjoy!
I hope you all enjoy these! It really was a treasure and we look forward to going back again! Have an abundantly blessed week!
Love and Blessings,
One of my very favorite scriptures is Psalm 91! Here it is in The Message:
1 You who sit down in the High God’s presence, spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,2 Say this: “God, you’re my refuge. I trust in you and I’m safe!”3 That’s right-he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards.4 His huge outstretched arms protect you-under them you’re perfectly safe; his arms fend off all harm.5 Fear nothing-not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day,6 Not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon.7 Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you.8 You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance, watch the wicked turn into corpses.9 Yes, because God’s your refuge, the High God your very own home,10 Evil can’t get close to you, harm can’t get through the door.11 He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go.12 If you stumble, they’ll catch you; their job is to keep you from falling.13 You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the path.
14 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God, “I’ll get you out of any trouble. I’ll give you the best of care if you’ll only get to know and trust me.15 Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times; I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.16 I’ll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!”
Oh, how I love the plainness and simplicity of this translation! Have a wonderful day filled with God’s blessings overflowing daily in your life!
At this particular day and hour, my Pastor’s Daily Word is perfect for today! Have you ever noticed that when you are dealing with something in your life, that suddenly God puts the perfect Word right in front of you?
I don’t know what your political affiliation is and I don’t care, but I personally am tired, disgusted and praying against all the immorality, ignorance, sinfulness, ungodliness, Un-Constitutional, demonic (and yes, I said demonic) ways our great Nation, the United States of America, is being pulled down and attempting to be destroyed! This is God’s Nation, built by our forefathers on not just the Word of God, but on the Gospels of Jesus Christ!
I will not sit by and just fold my hands and sigh, “Oh, me!” NO!!! I am standing up for what I KNOW as a Child of God, a Believer and Follower of my Lord and Savior and a Joint Heir with Jesus Christ!
Here is my Pastor’s Daily Word for today! Thank You, Father, for always being there and always showing us the way!
Dealing With Distractions
“Looking away [from all that would distract] to Jesus, Who is the leader and the Source of our faith…Hebrews 12:2a Amplified Bible
Distractions…they are all around us. Colors here, voices there, things to do, people to see, calls to answer, food to cook, clothes to wash…and the list goes on. A distraction is defined as some thing or things that divide our attention with the potential of leading one into confusion. Spiritually speaking, distractions are things that keep us from focusing on the Lord and the things that He requires of us. Jesus tells us in Mark 4:19 that the cares, anxieties and distractions of this age have the ability to choke the Word out of our hearts and cause it to become unfruitful. One of the greatest ways to master distractions has to do with the way that we begin our day. Put the Lord and His Word FIRST before anything or anyone else…at the beginning of the day. Ask the Spirit of God to help your with setting your priorities for the day. As you do this you will find less issues with being distracted.”
Scripture reading: Luke 10:38-42; Psalm 63:1
God bless each and everyone of you!
Love and Blessings,
DH and I love to find quaint, old, historic places to capture with our Canons! He heard of a place that was actually only 1 1/2 hours away from us, so last Friday we decided to check it out! What a marvelous find it was! It is a Heritage Park of 3 city blocks in a quaint little town east of us! The really awesome thing about this one is that each building is furnished with artifacts of the period and there are no barricades, ‘chicken wire’ screens or plexiglass partitions blocking you from the room. Each building is locked and you have to pay (a whopping $5.00!) for a tour where a sweet little lady named Mary unlocks the building and lets you go inside to see up close the wonderful treasures there! She is a delight and so full of information, it is wonderful! It is a good thing that they keep everything locked up because there are foolish, destructive people out there that have no sense of history! I will share just a sampling of the treasures we found! 🙂 Who knows…another day, another week, I may share more! 🙂
Have a Blessed Day filled with Love,
Last week my DH and I went on a day trip capturing memories and stories with our Canons! We love traveling around our state to find historic places that were once a vital part of building the great state of Texas. These photos were taken in Baird, Texas which is about 129 miles west of where we live.
This is not only a historic little town but it also meant something special to me. You see, we love old Courthouses, Forts and Train Depots! Well, during WWII and years afterwards, my dad was a Passenger Representative for T&P Railroad! He rode the troop trains during the war and after the war he still rode the trains doing his job. He eventually worked for Missouri Pacific which had merged with Texas and Pacific. The reason this site means a lot to me is because my dad would stop at this station on his way west.
I never was overly fond of history in school because it was boring, but I love visiting history! Even as a child I could almost hear the Indians, see smoke signals and picture covered wagons and horses with riders traveling the countryside! Well, things haven’t changed! I still can!!! So when we visited Baird’s T&P Train Station I could picture my dad in his younger days stopping at this station and then re-boarding the train and waving from the back! 🙂
Some people make New Year’s Resolutions, but I don’t! I like to reflect on the past year and seek ways to grow and opportunities for new accomplishments for the new year! I love watching God work and I just want to draw even closer to Him and enjoy watching Him work in my life and the lives of others!
There are so many things I want to accomplish in 2012 so I am praying about them, listening to hear and seeing which way my Daddy leads me! I just know that it is going to be an exciting year because I feel an excitement in my spirit!
One thing I am going to do, is post more often on my Blog! I am setting a goal for a once weekly post! Okay, I am committing to a weekly post!
Last week Paul and I took a ‘day trip’ to Old Fort Parker, the site of the kidnapping by the Comanches of Cynthia Anne Parker in 1836. We both love old historic sites and it was a fun day! I am going to start posting more of my photos from these ‘trips’ to share!
